Remember to come to our whole school art exhibition tomorrow! You can come any time from 3 - 7pm. The students have been working extremely hard and have created lots of amazing work, so it would be great to see lots of visitors.

Alyssa's Art
This is a picture I painted in the style of Henri Rousseau's parasol painting. In his version he painted a women in a dress holding a parasol walking through a forest. To create my painting we took a picture of ourselves and stuck it on a jungle backround that I painted. The plants that I painted in the backround are in some of Henri Rousseau's other jungle paintings. The main technique I used was overlapping. I painted the sky and the green in the backround and painted the plants over the top.
What is a good technique that you used in your paintings?

Art Week! (Term 3, Week 7)
This week is Art Week, so we will spend most of the week creating artworks. Room 11 is basing their work on Frida Kahlo and Room 12 is focussing on Henri Rousseau. We are building up to an art exhibition in Week 9.
Here are the tasks for this week. You won't really have much task time at school, so make sure you take some work home each day.
Here are some students working on our first task - creating a jungle.
