Weekly Tasks - Term 2, Week 11

Last week of Term 2! Here is the task sheet: Term 2, Week 11.

Remember that your science fair project is due on Wednesday. You need to set it up in the library before school starts.

The Science Fair winners will be announced at 6.30pm on Wednesday evening. If your parents want to come and look, get them to come a little earlier than that, as students will need to take home their projects after the announcement. The projects are available for viewing any time after school up until 6.30pm.

Here is the Maori vocab to study for the test on Thursday: Ka Mau te Wehi vocab. Remember that writing the words down is more useful than just looking at the words when you are trying to memorise them.

The questions are:
A. Choose two examples of 'show not tell', where you need to infer what the author means. Copy out the examples and write what you think each one means.
B. Choose two examples of interesting descriptive writing. Copy out the examples and write what you like about each one.

How to post to your blog from your new Gmail address

You will probably want to give your new email address admin rights to your existing blog so you don't have to log in and out of two accounts.

First browser (e.g. Chrome):
Go on to your blog with your old address, go into Design, then Settings, then look for the Permissions section.
There's an option to Add an author. Add in your new gmail address (your st-benedicts.school.nz one).
An email will be sent to that new address.

Second browser (e.g. Firefox):
In a different browser (so you can be logged in with two gmail accounts at once), log into gmail with your school address.
The invitation to be a blog author should have arrived. Accept it.

First browser (e.g. Chrome):
Then you need to go back to your original browser and look at the blog settings again while logged in on your old gmail address. Your school email address should now be showing up as an author.
Click on the box next to the email address that says Author and change it to Admin.

Now your new address has all the admin rights and you can post on your blog from either address.

Writing Circles
