Weekly Tasks - Term 3, Week 2

Here are the tasks for Term 3, Week 2.

If you are involved in ICAS English, PSW Netball or Aust Maths, you will need to manage your time carefully to get everything done - you will have to do a bit more at home.

Perspective art

Here's some art we did at the end of last term to tie in with our geometry unit. The students drew streets, following a couple of simple rules to show perspective. All vertical lines (e.g. sides of windows) need to be completely vertical and all horizontal lines (e.g. top & bottom of windows) need to point towards the centre of the picture.

Term 3 Reading Challenges

Here are the reading challenges for this term. Books can count in more than one challenge. Try to complete as many as you can!

10 Book Challenge: Read 10 books in one term.                                       

20 Book Challenge:  Read 20 books in one term. 

Name Title Challenge:  Read a book that includes a person’s name in the title.

400+ Challenge: Read a book that is over 400 pages long.

Comic Challenge: Read 3 comic books.

Non-fiction Challenge: Read a factual book.

Classic Challenge: Read a book written before 1950.

Own Name Challenge: Read a book that includes a character with your own name.

Alliterative Author Challenge: Read a book by an author whose first and last names start with the same letter.

Weekly Tasks - Term 3, Week 1

Welcome back to Term 3!

Here is the task sheet for this week: Term 3, Week 1.

Our main topic this term will be Aztecs. For English we're doing poetry and for Maths we'll start with multiplication & division strategies.

Don't forget we're going to do the Te Reo Maori test from last term again on Friday. Remember to study for it by writing down the words, not just reading them. Here's the vocab sheet to help you: Ka Mau te Wehi vocab list.
