Here are the tasks for Term 1, Week 9.
It is a super short week and you probably have lots of your recount left to do. Make sure you use the time you have at school efficiently and work hard at home to get it all done. Now you will be grateful to your previous self if you did extra work last week!
Welcome to the Kauri Syndicate blog. We are three Year 7&8 classrooms from St Benedict's School, Wellington, New Zealand.

EOTC Week
While the Year 8s were away at camp, the Year 7 students had a busy Education Outside the Classroom week. Their activities included hiking up Mt Kaukau, visiting Capital E OnTV and MediaLab, Pataka and the Porirua swimming pool, a day at Kaitoke Camp and finally, sports at the ASB Centre.
Weekly Tasks Term 1, Week 8
Welcome back to the real world! Here are the tasks for Term 1, Week 8. Remember the next two weeks are short because of Easter, so figure out what you need to get done by this Thursday. Your major task over the next two weeks is to write an amazing Camp or EOTC recount.
Recount tips:
- Lots of detail
- Include realistic dialogue
- Use humour
- Explain everything fully, e.g. what R.C. stands for, where you were etc
- Include your thoughts & feelings
- It can be reasonably informal
- Insert at least one picture per page.
- Make sure your layout is good. Keep moving and resizing pictures until they fit well.
- Proofread extremely carefully - think about the types of mistakes you usually make and avoid them this time.
This should be the best recount you have ever written!

Weekly Tasks - Term 1, Week 6
Here are the tasks for Term 1, Week 6.
This is the last week before camp and EOTC week. Make sure you are organised for those early in the week so you can talk to your teacher if there are any things you need to clarify.
Year 8s - remember your camp book is due Thursday 9am.
Dodgeball
Every Friday afternoon, everyone who has finished all their tasks for the week gets to go outside to play dodgeball. There is a fiercely contested competition between the 3 classes.
